Rally To Keep Safety Agents in New York City Schools

Join Africans Help Desk, NYC School Safety Coalition, and Teamsters Local 237 at the Rally to Keep School Safety Agents In Schools And Protect Our Children Sunday, April 11th at 2 pm at City Hall Park on Broadway between Warren and Murray St.

We reject and condemn the recent attacks on School Safety Agents and we will not allow politicians to jeopardize the safety of our children!

School Safety Agents are mostly Black, Hispanic, and Asian, and the majority are women. Many of our African brothers and sisters are School Safety Agents. Our School Safety Agents are civilians. They are not police officers. School Safety Agents do not carry weapons yet put their lives on the line everyday for our children. To claim that these caring and hard-working people are responsible for racist policing in our schools and also responsible for the school-to-prison pipeline is a despicable lie. We are sick and tired of politicians using our children to score political points through “fake news” when seeking higher office.

Politicians do not speak for parents. Politicians are not stakeholders. We will speak for ourselves and stand with our School Safety Agents on Sunday, April 11, at 2:00pm, at City Hall Park.
