New Yorkers with children enrolled in the New York City Public School system are slated to receive an amount of $420 per child to offset the cost of the food they would have gotten had the schools not been closed.
The Food benefit, part of the Families First Corona Virus Response Act, will be issued in June. If you already have an EBT card, the money will be automatically loaded onto your card. If you don't have an EBT card, you will receive a notice in the mail from the State explaining when and how you will receive the food benefit.
