The Popular Make Up brand Juvia's Place, founded by Chichi Eburu, announced that they will award six $50,000 grants to Black Owned Businesses in hopes of addressing challenges faced by Black Entrepreneurs, such as debt, which the brand, says, can kill a business before it even gets started.
Eburu who established the company in 2014, said that as a black-owned business owner, she understands firsthand the financial obstacles black entrepreneurs face. "My business was built with minimal financial resources, but I had a supportive community to lean on," said Eburu. She acknowledged the fact that without that community support, she would not have been as successful as she has been, and she would like to offer other black entrepreneurs an opportunity to grow their businesses.
The deadline to apply for the brand's Black-Owned Business grant is August 31, 2020. For more information, visit the company's website at www.juviasplace.com/pages/business-grant.
